A program on similar topics is anticicpated for Summer 2024 - check back for updates!

Come explore the history and beauty of the European Alps while gaining a holistic view of the sustainable wood products industry!

This short-term study abroad takes place during summer break in both Slovenia and northern Italy. Explore the sustainability and creation of the built environment starting in the forest itself and following the value chain all the way through design, manufacturing, and construction. Experience cross-cultural exchange with students from the University of Primorska in Slovenia and learn from their faculty and industry leaders. The program will also include industry tours of several companies that focus on the manufacture and design of sustainable products made of natural materials. This program runs every other year.

Some possible industry tours include: Riko Hise, Rubner Holzbau, and XLAM Dolomiti

Faculty-led programs are available to ALL OSU STUDENTS

This includes all majors and campuses, including E-campus, Cascades, dually enrolled students at partner Community Colleges, and our main campus in Corvallis. Because these programs are short-term, they tend to bring together diverse groups of graduate and undergraduate students, online and campus-based learners, students of different ages, majors, and life experiences. That diversity makes group interaction so much richer because there are so many different perspectives.
